Deano

Here's a pencil drawing I did of Deano.  In the past when I normally drew a pencil drawing, I always used the grid method.  However, this is my first drawing I did totally freehand.  I'm fairly happy with how it came out, however you can totally see my week spots (nose and ear?) but I'm definitely going to continue these drawings in the future without using the grid method.

Pencil Drawings

Well I finally got around to completing my first pencil drawing in over 5 years!   Pencil drawings has been one of my very first loves, and is what got me into art in the first place.  I started pencil drawings when I was only 10 years old.  The past five years or so I kinda drifted away from them because I have gotten into vector illustrations, but now I'm finally wanting to get back into them!  This drawing is of my little cousin Lily.  I copied it from a photo using the grid method.  This took me about 3 hours.  I also find that working for an hour, then taking a break and going back to it works best because it gives your eyes a break and makes it easier to find mistakes.  Overall I am happy with it and want to continue developing my pencil skills in the future.

Here are two of my other pencil drawings that I did in the past.  The first one is of my grandfather.  Im not sure the exact date I drew this, but I'm thinking it was sometime in the early 2000's.  The second is a drawing of an 82' Corvette.  I drew this one about 5 years ago.  You can tell by looking closely that these two aren't as technical, and the shading is a little off, which is something I tried to work on in my recent one above, and something I will continue to work on in the future.
