You might remember my bear sketch from my post before this one. I finally got the chance to bring this into Illustrator to make a vector illustration of it. I'm still in the process of illustrating the other sketches in that post, but for now, here is Mr. Bear, and his side kick, Zack (I totally just made up those names a second ago).

Just some drawings...
I know it's been awhile since I last posted, and I would like to say that was do to the fact that my life is just so exciting and filled with fun things, but the reality is that I'm just lazy. After having a very depressing weekend which involved going to two different wakes, I decided to try to cheer myself up by sitting in front of the tv in my comfy pants watching episodes of Snooki and Jwow with my sketchbook in hand. For some strange reason, watching that show always does a good job of making me feel better about myself. Here are some of my drawings I did while watching it. I am still in the process of making vector illustrations of these drawings in Illustrator, but for now, here are just my sketches. Hopefully I'll get my vector illustrations up within a few days...
I would also like to say that I have a few exciting projects in the works, so stay tuned!

Giraffe
My husband's friend just had a baby. He's actually the friend that introduced me to my husband 10 years ago. I went to Pratt with him, and once I started dating my husband, I also became good friends with his girlfriend (his now wife). The four of us have remained really good friends over the past 10 years. Anyhoo, he's now an architect and has always had an appreciation for art and has always taken an interest in my work. I decided that I wanted to make them something for their baby's room. Unfortunately, since my husband hates my art work, this will never make it's way to them. Instead it will probably just sit on my desk collecting dust and it will most likely end up in the garbage in 6 months.

New business cards!
I figured it was about time to update the look of my business card. My old ones still had my maiden name on them, and I just wanted to give it a more updated feel and also include my blog on it.
I designed these and printed them out myself. They aren't the greatest quality, and I did consider getting them professionally printed via Vista Print, but in reality I rarely give anyone my card and I felt it would just be a waste of money getting them printed just so they could sit on my desk and eventually collect dust. After making these cards I took a trip down memory lane to my very first business card I designed. And my second. My newest one is my third, and its cool to see the evolution of my business card through out the years. The first and last cards are my original Illustrator files. The middle one is just a scan because something when wrong with it's original file and I couldn't get it to open.

Happy Valentines Day!
I know I haven't had much luck in the stuffed animal department in the past, but I figured I'd give it one more try. Instead of trying to make these intricate stuffed animals, I took a step back and tried something a little more simple. Since Valentine's day was coming up I went with a basic heart shaped pillow. I hand sewed this instead of using the machine. Not that bad. Not that good either. It's a little crooked in parts, and the heart in the middle doesn't match up exactly with the bigger heart. Over all, I am happy with this and hope to master this soon. I know this pillow isn't in Valentine's Day colors, but that is only because I still had a bunch of these blue fabrics left over and I didn't feel like going out and buying new fabric. Happy Valentine's Day!!

Panda!
I've been slacking with my art the past month! I was just so busy with the holidays that when January rolled around I just didn't want to do anything! Well, I finally got around to making this little guy. It's funny because it started off as a completely different illustration. After a few days of working on it, and re-working on it, it kinda just became a panda. More artwork to come soon!
